Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) 2022-23

  • Fall 2022 / Spring 2023 FAFSA Processing is scheduled to begin in mid-November, 2021 and Awarding in early March , 2022.

  • Your financial aid eligibility for Fall 2022 and/or Spring 2023 and/or Summer 2023 will be determined based on the 2022-23 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which is available on-line NOW using your FSA ID at https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa.

  • You and/or your spouse OR you and/or your parent's 2020 income tax information be will needed to complete the FAFSA. Additionally, you MAY still be required to submit other documentation, such as tax information, verification worksheet, etc.., upon receipt of the 2022-23 FAFSA results.

  • Please read this IMPORTANT information regarding FAFSA verification standards and the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (IRS DRT).

  • And, submit the Additional Benefits/Expenses form to advise the MSU Financial Aid Office of any scholarships/benefits you may receive AND/OR child care expenses you may incur in 2022-23 as this information will be taken into account at the time we are processing your financial aid award(s); adjustments WILL BE MADE to your award(s), if necessary, if the Financial Aid Office is made aware of any scholarship(s) or additional benefits you will receive AFTER your award(s) are determined and/or disbursed.

  • Also, you can choose to submit the Release of Information form if you want the MSU Financial Aid Office to discuss and/or release written information to your parent(s), organizations(s), etc...regarding your financial aid.

  • And, review the current Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) rules so you are aware of how your academic performance plays a major role in retaining your financial aid awards; always be aware of your current financial aid standing!
