Planned Maintenance:

Planned maintenance windows are separated into planned banner maintenance and planned network maintenance.

Planned banner maintenance windows are usually reserved for the first Saturday of the month from 12:00AM to 11:59PM to carry out system maintenance, rescheduling some Saturdays to avoid end of semester deadlines where possible. These can sometimes be skipped if not needed, expanded if necessary, or reduced. Banner will still be functional during these planned maintenance windows, but may be intermittently less responsive for the duration. In addition, there will sometimes be necessary special planned shutdowns to carry out upgrades or alterations to the systems. All effort will be made to schedule planned shutdowns during the first Saturday of the month.

Planned network maintenance windows are usually reserved for the first and third Saturdays of the month from 11:00PM to 7:00AM Sunday morning. During these eight how windows, some network and telecom functions may intermittently be down for small areas of campus. In addition, there will sometimes be necessary special planned shutdowns to carry out upgrades or replacing hardware. All effort will be made to schedule planned shutdowns during the first and third Saturday of the month.

We appreciate your patience during these maintenance periods, which are used to improve operation and stability of the resources and to implement new features as available. Please feel free to contact us at helpdesk@msutexas.edu if you require assistance or have any further questions.
